PLACE: Lower Southampton Township Administration Building (1500 Desire Ave., Lower Southampton, PA) DATE: Wednesday, November 18 TIME: 7:30 p.m. DETAILS: Specialists Joseph Riehl, 19, and Specialist Joseph M. Lesher, 21, both of Lower Southampton, PA and recently returned from Iraq after serving deployments with the Pennsylvania National Guard 328 Brigade Support Battalion, 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, will be honored for their heroism and service to their country with a special American Flag presentation ceremony by the Feasterville Business Association. The flags will be presented by Diane R. Fetscher, of Southampton, PA, president of the FBA and Executive Committee Member Michael J. Hughes, of Holland, PA, event chairperson. In addition to the individual flag presentations both servicemen will have their names placed on a permanent military Wall Of Honor in the township administration building. The event is part of the FBA’s ongoing program to call the public’s attention to heroism displayed by area members of the military serving around the world. Riehl, a graduate of Neshiminy High School, deferred the start of his freshman year at Drexel University to serve with his unit in Iraq. He has been active in the community as a member and volunteer with Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, a member of the Friends Of The Lower Southampton Library and as a member of the Southampton Days Committee. Lesher, also is a graduate of Neshiminy High School, completed his freshmen and sophomore years at Shippensburg University prior to being deployed to Iraq with his unit in November of 2008. He was redeployed for eight additional months in August of 2009. Now back, he is currently a junior at Shippensburg University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Celebrating its 60th anniversary year the Feasterville Business Association fosters and encourages growth for the betterment of the community. |
